Since its inception in 1882 by Ferdinand Gröne, Colchester Prep & High School has built a longstanding reputation for delivering an excellent all-round education while preparing pupils to be confident, balanced individuals ready for a rapidly changing world.

While our pupils consistently achieve outstanding academic results, Colchester Prep and High School has also always offered something far deeper and far more lasting, an education which places a central importance on character development, social responsibility and global citizenship

We are incredibly proud that alumni from Colchester Prep & High School have progressed to study at top senior schools and universities both in the UK and around the globe. They continue to make significant contributions across diverse sectors—ranging from sports, music, and the arts to theatre, law, medicine, and finance.
